  3. White Oak Travel Services, Inc is doing business as Wish Upon A Star Cruises now.
  4. to get that 1/2 deposit that Disney Cruise Lines is offering!
  5. The commercials were horrible, the Falcons blew a big lead because they got conservative and let the Patriots steal the game. Thank goodness for Lady Gaga, who put on a good show.
  6. Tough choice. I enjoyed them both. I think I like Moana better however I think Zootopia will win because of it's more serious message
  7. And finally the Main Street Electrical Parade will only be there until June 18, 2017.
  8. Which one will win the oscar? I have seen both multiple times and can't decide.
  9. Have you seen the movies? We have seen a few, but want to see a few more that are oscar contenders. Which movies have you seen?
  10. Love this show! It is so well done it is amazing. NPH is an amazing actor and he produced this show. What do you think of it? If you are not watching it, you should be!
  11. Saw this musical today and absolutely love it. Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone are fantastic! I highly recommend this film if you love musicals, a great storyline and Emma and or Ryan, or both together.
  12. And today I realized I want DCC - Disney Cruise Club. I would buy in for sure!
  13. DVC

Tell me members, why should I join DVC? Cons: We like maid service Expensive We prefer to cruise Pro's: ???
  14. Rumor has it that Rivers of light will be coming back for the summer. Who is excited for this? We are cruising in October, and I hope it will still be showing when we are there! What do you think?
  15. For Christmas I got the much wanted Amazon Echo and I love her. Alex is great. But I asked her to play a song today and she could only play a 'sample' of the song. I was a little stupefied because I thought I had access to ALL amazon music. So I want to Amazon.com and found out that no, I was seriously lacking in the music department. But for only 79.00 I am now the 'owner' of 10's of thousands of songs. No more 'samples' for me. So what am I currently listening to? Right now it is Green Day - the complete catalog. Earlier I listened to Led Zepplin. Man I love this. I may not be a foodie, but I am a music person. What are you listening to right now?
  16. When I got back to the hotel room after the party we had to call the front desk to find out what time to be at the lobby in the morning (11) for our cruise and what time they were picking up our luggage (8), so I went right to bed, knowing that I would be the one to get up in the morning at 8 since Andy is used to staying up late. On the morning of the 17th I woke at 745 and quickly got dressed so I would be ready when the knock on the door came. Soon they did come and 4 of our bags were then taken so they could be brought to our room on the ship. We were left with one suitcase for beer, chocolate milk and water and a few backpacks. We had a lazy morning after that, just hanging out in our room, they kept knocking to see when we were leaving, I kept telling them 1045 (check out time is 11) and yet they kept knocking. We finally left at about 10:40 to make our way to the lobby. I was so excited. Not our first cruise by far, but you'd never know that by how excited I was. When we got to the lobby we decided to get some breakfast so we went to the bakery and picked up a few blueberry muffins. They looked real good but were very dry. A few minutes after I finished my muffin, the Cruise people showed up and said the bus would be arriving soon. But it wasn't soon, it was about 30 minutes later when it finally arrived. On the bus they showed Annie, and I had not seen this version so I was very happy just watching the movie. I was so entranced with the movie I missed it. Yep I missed the first view of the Fantasy, our home for the next 7 nights! But once I could see it I never took my eyes off of it. I love cruising, it is my favorite form of travel. Once we got to the port we quickly got off the bus and were on our way through security. The line was short and we were soon in line for check-in, with the standard 'are you sick' form which asks if you've thrown up in the past 24 hours and a few other questions. Flu stuff mostly. I filled it out and waiting impatiently in line. Soon it was our turn and we got to check in. We gave the Cast Member our form that I got from online check-in, signed in all appropriate places. We were given a few copies of the Navigator, our room number, our lanyards because we were silver Castaway Club members and headed through the Mickey opening and onto the ship! By the time we got onto the ship it was almost 1:30. We were able to go directly to our cabin, so we did that and found it full. I had gotten the Christmas decorations and the Star Wars decorations and both were hanging in the room. We moved a few hanging items so we could walk around and were so happy to be home! Our luggage wasn't there yet so we headed on up to get some lunch. We ate then toured the kids clubs. Because I am a travel agent I was able to take pictures in the kids clubs. After touring the kids clubs we decided to go see if our luggage was there and it wasn't in front of our cabin, but inside. Alex had put it inside for us. We unpacked and got ready for muster, then the Sail Away Party. As usual muster was boring, and everyone and their brother was trying to go upstairs for the Sail Away Party. Andy was the first to make it and found a fairly good spot, where we could see some of the stage and all of the screen. Amazingly, this was our 5th cruise and we had never seen this show. I enjoyed it this time but probably wouldn't do it again. Yeah the picture shows we had a good view. After Sail Away we went to see if luggage was delivered and sure enough it was. Alex had taken it inside the cabin. So, we unpacked and prepared for me to go to trivia at 7:45. I knew where to be for dinner so was on my way. The first night I was alone for trivia and did miserable. The room was packed. I then met the boys for dinner and was so happy to see one of my best friends, Kristin and her family at dinner. Marissa was 14 and Chris her husband. I sat across from Chris while Kristin sat across from Andy. After dinner we had plans to go to the Tube for Match your Mate. Yep, I talked Andy into doing this again, and again we lost. We have been married almost 30 years, it's hard to remember the early years. It was fun because I met Joshie, our club host who was totally awesome. But it had been a long day, so after Match your Mate it was time for bed for us.
  17. I am thinking of buying a membership into the Rainforest room for our next cruise, and trying to decide if I want to do that the day I have my massage. I have heard the rainforest room is wonderful. Please tell me about it and post your pictures.
  18. I will start. I am old. 50 and will be 51 next month. I have been married almost 30 years to the love of my life. We have a son named Alex who is also the love of my life. Then there are the dogs, Amber and Pixie who I love, but the cats, oh the cats I love dearly. You see, while I love ALL animals, I am a cat person and we have 4 cats to prove it. We would have more, but one is a nasty girl who hates everyone but me and that is not acceptable. So when she dies, I will become that crazy cat lady down the street. Right now, I am just that crazy Disney lady from down the street. I collect Disney, I visit Disney as often as possible, and I specialize in Disney as a Travel Agent. Fortunately my husband and son, while they are dog people, they still have the love of Disney that I have, making all of our Disney vacations totally possible. When not traveling or working on other peoples travels, I am cat sitting in my hometown. I have a few friends that I trust with my life, Jody, a neighbor friend is one, and @Disneyfanatic is another. So hopefully you will meet her soon.
  19. Hi everyone, and welcome to the forums. This is where you introduce yourself and welcome new member. Welcome to my good friend @Disneyfanatic who quietly joined today. Come say hi, my friend!
  20. With the information available on today’s internet anyone can research and book a Disney Vacation. So why use a Disney Travel Agency? Knowledge – It’s hard to believe how complicated a Disney Vacation can become. Walt Disney World has 6 parks, over 45 hotels, and a multitude of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. Are you a 1st time Disney Cruiser? The Disney Fantasy has 25 room categories, 14 passenger decks and over 1200 staterooms. A Disney Travel agent that has graduated from the Disney College of Knowledge has both the resources and knowledge to help you wade through all the choices you have to make. Experience – The cousin of knowledge. An experienced Disney Travel Agent will have been taking Disney Vacations for years. They will have booked 100s of other Disney Vacations. And when an travel agent does have the specific experience they have to resources to go find someone that does. Leanne from White Oak Travel has been traveling to Disneyland, Walt Disney World and taking Disney Cruises for over 30 years. Service – Most Travel Agents become Disney specialists because they love Disney and the service Disney provides. At White Oak Travel we are committed to providing the same level of service. You will work with one person and we generally are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Saves Money - In general you can get the same rates as a Travel Agent. However a Disney Travel Agent will know the best times to travel which can save you money. Disney agents are on the Disney travel agent site daily and are aware when discounts come out… sometimes before the general public. Many times those discounts can be applied to an already booked vacation. If you are taking a Disney Cruise many Disney Travel Agencies offer shipboard credits for you to spend on your cruise as a reward for using them. White Oak Travel is one of those agencies. The list of credit amounts can be found here. Saves Time – Spend your time planning the fun parts of your vacation and not waiting on the phone trying to reserve your dining or excursions at midnight. You can do as much as the research and reservation booking that you want and turn over the rest to your Travel Agent. Can’t get that hugely popular dining reservation? Let your travel agent spend the time checking every day for cancellations. Want to book that Disney Cruise the day rates come out? Let the travel agent worry about checking daily for the new rates. It’s Free – Disney pays Travel Agents a commission… you don’t. You receives years of Disney experience and knowledge at no cost to yourself. Dealing with problems – We certainly hope your Disney vacation is problem free. However occasionally issues do come up before and during your vacation. Let us deal with it. We can’t solve every problem that comes up during your vacation but we can certainly try to relieve you of the stress of dealing with it. We certainly understand people that want to research, plan and book their own Disney Vacations. We have done that ourselves for most of our personal vacations. However we feel there are significant reasons to use a Disney Travel Agent… especially for first time Disney travelers.
  21. And I just found out that it will be the Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade again. I am so happy. And I am so happy Andy never let me buy a bulb when it left Disneyland. But I am more happy it is returning! What about you?
  22. Ok, I think Frozen is better, I like the story, the music and the characters better, with Moana as a close second and Tangled as my third favorite Disney animated film. Which do you think is better, Frozen or Moana?
  23. We began our trip on December 16, 2016 at the Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World. We had Wishes Dessert Buffett reservations for that night. We didn't get into Orlando until after 3 so there was no way we were going to get to Magic Kingdom by 4. We checked into the Coronado Springs Hotel for the night and I loved this hotel. It was very nicely done, the room was nice and the hotel grounds were beautiful. I was immediately saddened that we were not staying here for our second part of the trip. I don't have any room photos but I have a few from the grounds of the hotel: We got to our room and settled in for the night before heading to the Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Party. We were at the gates after a very long security line by seven pm, the start of the party. Alex wanted to ride Pirates so we grabbed food, the boys finished quickly and went to ride Pirates while I finished eating. They were gone for a long time but did make it back before the first parade. Andy went to record something at Cinderella Castle and Alex wanted a Pin so we went to get that, then found a spot for the parade. We sat in Frontierland, the start of the parade. The parade was much different than the last time we saw it: After the parade we had to hustle over to Tomorrowland Terrace to check in at 830. Alex wanted to ride Haunted Mansion first so they did that while I went to check us in for the Dessert party. Sorry no pictures here but I was frustrated because they had changed this since the last time we did the dessert party. They used to have about 40-50 guests and have assigned tables so it didn't matter when you came in or checked in. Now there are about 200 guests and it is first come first serve. Because of the ride the boys did, we were last seated so didn't have a choice of seats. Amazingly we were able to see the fireworks from there and enjoyed a few treats and drinks. This is where we made the decision that this was our last Christmas party. I was told later that there were only 40k people there, but it felt like there were much more than that. It felt like a summer Saturday afternoon capacity crowd. I guess when everyone in the park has the same goals (the parade and fireworks) it gets very messy and crowded. I decided at this point to ride Tomorrowland Transit Authority and call it a night. Well, TTA was down, so the boys went to ride Buzz. I hate the Disney World version of Buzz so decided to shop and call it a night, after all we cruised the next day. So I went to Main Street in search of a Gallery of Light piece and found it exactly where I expected. Disneyana. So I got the Jack and Sally Gallery of Light there and discovered they are very heavy. I met up with the boys and we left the party. Went back to Coronado Springs and called to get our bus information and luggage pickup information before going to bed for the night. The next day would begin our second Cruise on the Disney Fantasy.
  24. We stayed in cabin 6669 a 10A category Deluxe Inside Stateroom on deck 6. It was Star Wars decorated and Christmas decorated so it was busy but it was fun. There was a Magic Porthole Inside room. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the room but it was wonderful. It was located AFT which is our favorite spot and it was very quiet. Occasionally when inside during the day I could heard the people in the connecting room but it was never loud. I loved our Magic Porthole. There is actually a camera on the ship that takes real time video and that is what you see, with the occasional Disney character appearing on the screen. You can leave the magic porthole on all day and night, or turn it off at night. I liked it on because it makes a wonderful nightlight making it easy to get up and use the bathroom because the room is not completely dark. Because of the Magic Porthole it wasn't really a good example of an inside room, but the size was. And frankly, while it felt small a few times, normally it was just fine. There was plenty of room under the bed for our luggage and plenty of desktop space. We also enjoyed the plug in's located by the bed under the desk lamps. This was our first time in a room only 214 sq feet and it was fine. I do recommend the split bath. For one thing it adds 40 sq. feet to get to that 214 total, but it also makes it easier to get ready in the morning when taking showers.
