What Next? (11/02/06)

I am sure many of you go through what I am going through now, so I thought I would write about it. Any suggestions can be sent through a comment added to the page, or on our message boards.

We are going to Disneyland in December and I simply can't wait to see my favorite place all decked out for the Holidays. Our trip is paid for, the airline tickets have been purchased, and I am waiting for the Holiday basket and stocking list from Vacation Planning.

Each day, I check the calendar at Disneyland.com to see if things have been added to the holiday schedule. I search out pictures of Disneyland at Christmas and saw some today that brought tears to my eyes. This was a picture of Main Street during the Holiday Snow that falls after the fireworks. Sure, I am in Colorado and see snow often in the winter, but at Disneyland, even though it is not real snow, it is still magical.

We leave for Disneyland in 44 days. I am not sure how I can wait that long as I am ready to go now! I can envision this trip, and the magic we will see at Disneyland. I can't wait for my son to see 'red' Small World again. He was 14 months old the last time he saw Holiday Small World, and loves to watch the video. Remembering his thrill from June when he saw Small World again, I am very excited about his reaction in December.

This could very well be our last trip to Disneyland for a while. I want to pack all the magic from this coming trip into my memory to last until we can go back.

In the next 44 days I will probably continue to check Disneyland.com daily. I will read trip reports, and I will think about what I am going to do, what I am going to buy, and my son's reaction to all the lights of Disneyland. I am going to spend time on our forums talking to other excited people, planning a time to meet some of them.

In about three weeks we will have our tickets, and then I can spend time looking through that package and anticipating everything again. This holiday trip has me very excited. Each night as my son pulls his ring, I think I get as excited as he is that we are 'one day closer to Disneyland'.

Our priority seating reservations are done. Something new for us this trip is a visit to the Rainforest Caf? for lunch. We also have two meals at Carnation Caf? and three character meals to round out the priority seating. For the first time we will see Santa's Reindeer Roundup. Alex is very excited this year to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas. This is where he will see Santa and I am expecting great things. After all, the past two years he has either screamed or not wanted anything to do with Santa. This year Alex is well aware he will see Santa at Disneyland and he is very excited. The Reindeer Roundup was not there on our last holiday trip, so it should be a lot of fun for us to enjoy.

I have so much to look forward to doing. So if I follow my 'what next' plan, the days should pass by quickly and then I can share everything about our vacation. If you have other ideas for me, I would love to see them!
