Walt Disney Worlds Dreams Come True Review 2008

Magic Kingdom ’s Dreams Come True Show

At the MagicKingdom you can see a fantastic 20 minute show in front of CinderellaCastle.  Dreams Come True is a delight for anyone who loves characters, music, dance, and good beating evil.  During the show you will hear very familiar music, such as ‘Some Day My Prince Will Come’ and some music from Fantasmic! Yes, Night on BaldMountain is perfect music for the evil characters.

Dancers, Minnie, Goofy and Donald come on stage to open the show.  We are invited to come join the party where dreams DO come true.  Toward the end of the opening number Mickey Mouse comes out to join his friends.

(One quick aside for those who have seen character shows at Disneyland.  For the shows at the MagicKingdom, the characters mouths move while they talk.  This is something you will not see at a Disneyland show.)

The ‘plot’ for this show is Belive In Dreams.  It is quickly apparent that Donald no longer believes in dreams, or the power of dreams.  We find out that it is Minnie’s dream to be a Princess, and Goofy’s dream to be a Pirate.

Mickey has invited special guests to join this party, and now they come out, dancing with the man of their dreams.  Snow White, Aurora and Cinderella appear in complete elegance.  The couples dance for a few minutes when Mickey asks Minnie to dance.  Minnie says they can’t because she is not a Princess. Mickey tells her she will always be a Princess to him, and they join the dancing couples on stage.

Next is time for Goofy’s dream to come true.  He is quickly transformed into Smee and Donald becomes Captain Hook.  Peter Pan and Wendy join them on stage, as do another set of dancers.  Donald as Hook pretends to fight Peter Pan.  Then the real Hook and Smee come on stage and Hook challenges Donald and Goofy to a fight.  Peter Pan accepts the challenge and a sword fight quickly commences.

After a few moments evil herself shows up in the form of Maleficent.  She says that since not everyone believes in dreams she and Captain Hook are going to triumph.

Donald of course wonders what happened to their dreams.  Mickey and Minnie come back out and encourage the crowd to believe in dreams.  After a few moments it is plain that everyone now believes in dreams again.  Captain Hook can’t stand it and leaves, followed shortly by Maleficent.  As she leaves though, she warns that she will be back if anyone stops believing.

For the finale of the show, after good once again rises above evil, all of the dancers and the Princesses come back on stage.  Mickey and Minnie rise into the air as Mickey says: Take the Dream with you wherever you may go.

This show is a great pageant of characters dancing and singing.  With a lot of fanfare and great musical choices Dreams Come True is something for the whole family to enjoy.  As an adult who believes I found this show enchanting.  My 6-year-old son absolutely loved the show and will now dance to the theme music when he hears it.  Be sure to take time out for this show at CinderellaCastle.  You will find show times in your daily times guide for MagicKingdom.
