Location Review:

My fiancé (24-year-old male) and I (21-year-old female) love Carousel Inn and Suites! The hotel is located directly across the street from the entrance into the Disneyland Resort, a mere 100 yards away. You do not need to purchase Anaheim Resort Transit (A.R.T.) passes; it is less than a five-minute walk. You can easily return to your room for afternoon naps and refreshments. I, actually, think the hotel is closer to the Disneyland Resort than the Paradise Pier Hotel.

Food Review:

We enjoyed Quizno's Subs, which is conveniently located on-site and moderately priced. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were able to afford more character meals by dining at Quizno's throughout our stay. Not many people are aware of this, but you can call Quizno's, from the comfort of your suite, to pre-order a meal to go. These boxed meals include your choice of any small sub, bag of chips and cookie. I loved their Italian Caprese sub (basil, Mozzarella cheese, pesto, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing)! Carousel Inn and Suites also offers complimentary continental breakfast. My fiancé and I aren't "breakfast people," but we enjoyed their hard-boiled eggs, coffee and O.J. Each suite comes with a coffee maker, but we preferred the coffee offered upstairs. For people driving to the Disneyland Resort, each suite also includes a full-size microwave and mini 'fridge; so, please feel free to pack food. This is especially nice since some hotels do not have these amenities and, in the event that they do, you are often expected to pay extra for them or they must be requested upon your arrival. Landon and I grabbed oranges (and other fruit) from the complimentary continental breakfast to bring back to our suite's mini 'fridge for a cool afternoon snack. On our third trip to the Disneyland Resort, this year, Landon and I were monetarily spent and could not afford dining in the park. So, we brought food with us and made use of the microwave and mini 'fridge.

For those of you driving and on a budget, this is what we packed:

At Costco, we found a box of two-hundred-and-twenty Otter Pops for $6.79. That's 3.8 cents per Otter Pop. Each popsicle contains 30 calories of carbohydrates, giving them quite a low price/energy ratio. They are the perfect summer snack. They take a few minutes to eat and satisfy most mild sugar cravings; they're cool, refreshing and they taste great!

Nissin's Cup Noodles soup is cheap and becoming a staple in the life of college students everywhere. It comes in innumerable flavors like roast beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetarian vegetable. A family pack of six is around $3.00.

We also brought our BRITA water purifier for the vanity's sink, along with water bottles.

Accommodations Review:

With three queen beds and a sofa bed, our three-room suite accommodated our group of six well. Our suite included air conditioning, a fair-sized television, coffee maker, mini 'fridge, full-size microwave, hairdryer, toiletries, safe, iron and ironing board, a telephone with voicemail, and one covered parking space. My fiancé was in Heaven upon realizing they support wireless Internet. The television included satellite programming, which was wonderful because I am, admittedly, a fan of the Disney Channel. The view was, also, spectacular! You can view DisneylandPark's "Remember, Dreams Come True . . ." fireworks display from their rooftop swimming pool. As a child, I remember loving this because I loved the fireworks, but the noise frightened me. The rooms are clean, the managers and staff are amazing -- This is a great hotel! Be sure to ask about their Frequent Stay program, if like us, you intend to stay there frequently. We received 5% off our room rate.
