Disneyland Character Celebrations will be taking the place of a Disneyland Parade between now and May 3, 2005. Then once again, after the reopening on May 5th to begin the Happiest Homecoming Celebration, parades will resume.
Currently there are two different Character Celebrations happening at Disneyland. In late January, Sleeping Beauty's Royal Celebration was first performed, and on February 11th Mickey's Magic Kingdom Celebration made its debut.
The Character Celebrations are an interactive street show, with up to 45 performers. Characters and dancers will join guests as they travel along the parade route. Then, once the pre determined location is reached, the street show becomes a stage show.
Mickey's Magic Kingdom Celebration's stage show will take place at the north end of Main Street. This show will feature Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Stitch who will help to showcase each of Disneyland's Lands. During this celebrations, watch and listen as Stitch becomes Elvis for a song, play in Goofy's band, and follow Donald as he leads you into a square dance.
Sleeping Beauty's Royal Celebration's stage show will be the forecourt of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Here, you will have the opportunity to play and dance with Belle, Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora), Snow White, Cinderella, and Jasmine, as well as their individual Prince's. Don't worry though, the Prince's are nice, and will let you dance with their Princess!
There are several of these Character Celebrations scheduled throughout the day, so be sure to check your Disneyland Today pamphlet for the times of each celebration. If you would like to know the times in advance of your vacation, check the schedule at www.disneyland.com for the scheduled times.
