Le Cellier Restaurant Review, Canada Pavilion, World Showcase at EPCOT
Le Cellier (pronounced Le Cellya) is a nice restaurant you can enjoy wearing theme park clothing, or you can dress up for a nice meal. Either way you will be comfortable in this dining location.
The restaurant is located underground in a cement/brick building. There are no windows here so you are in a self contained room with no outside disturbances. Because of this, you can enjoy Le Cellier for a romantic meal, or a family meal your children.
When you are led to your table you will be told which part of the restaurant you are being seated in, and what location it represents in Canada. When your server comes to your table you will hear what part of Canada he or she hails from, and a little bit about that area. It is quite enjoyable to hear more about the country Le Cellier comes from.
Primarily known for their steak, Le Cellier is a restaurant that caters to those who don't like steak as well. For example, children can get a pizza for their meal, while the adults can enjoy steak, seafood or chicken. Each table will also get three 'breadsticks'. These are a pretzel bread, a sourdough bread and a rye type bread. With the warm bread and softened butter this is a first course that anyone can enjoy.
The signature meal at Le Cellier is the Mushroom Filet Mignon, cooked to order. This is served with a wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce. There are also salads as a meal, burgers, sandwiches, pasta and Chef's Favorites. For the Chef's Favorites you will choose one dish from three categories: appetizer, entree and dessert. This is a limited menu that does not offer steak as an entree.
If you enjoy a 'local' (Canadian) beer with your dinner, you will be told your options with the actual product name, and then the translation of that name. The bottle will arrive with artwork depicting the literal name of the beer.
Desserts are large and can easily be shared.
We enjoyed our first meal at Le Cellier on Sunday October 24th. I ordered the signature Filet while my husband ordered the New York Strip. Alex ordered the childs pizza. Alex was sick and never even took a bite of the pizza, instead choosing to just eat the apple slices. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and incredibly good. I really enjoyed the mushrooms with the filet and the truffle was also quite tasty. Andy also enjoyed his steak and the Yukon potatoes. He also tried Alex's pizza and found it delicious as well.
For dessert Andy got the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake and I had the Berry Cobbler with Cheesecake Ice-cream. Both desserts were wonderful, and large enough servings to share.
We enjoyed this meal using the Disney Dining Plan but will definitely eat here even if we are not on the dining plan. The food was top-notch and the service impeccable. Jackie was our server and we loved her. Of the three breads we were initially brought, my favorite was the pretzel bread. Each of the breads were warm, soft and chewy. Now we have eaten here, and can join the throngs of others who highly recommend Le Cellier whether you are on the dining plan or not.
