We had scheduled our Minnie and Friends breakfast for Thursday June 29th. We chose this day because it was an early entry day and we would be able to enjoy Disneyland for a few hours before breakfast. Our priority seating reservations were for 9:30 in the morning and we checked in at about 9:25. We paid and were seated by 9:31. Don't forget to get your character meal buttons when you pay for this meal. Our family has 2 adults and a child aged 3 ¾ enjoying this breakfast.
The last time we had done Plaza Inn for a character meal it was the Princesses character meal and that was a mess… kids running everywhere to visit the Princesses. This time we were seated inside in a half booth against two walls. The location was nice and air conditioned!
The Plaza Inn Breakfast is a buffet but not a typical one. Here you tell the Cast Members what you want and they put it on a plate. Fresh omelets are prepared and made to order. There is also the traditional breakfast… scrambled eggs, ham, sausage and bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. In the center of the restaurant is a station where you can get fruit, rolls and danishes, and French toast or Mickey Mouse Waffles.
The food here is wonderful, the servings are large, and you can refill anytime you wish.
We were definitely impressed with the Minnie and Friends breakfast. Not a Princess in sight and it was wonderful. We saw Minnie Mouse, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore, and the Fairy Godmother. Each one visited our table and some of the characters really spent a lot of time with us.
When the Fairy Godmother came to our table she was joined by Chip. We explained to her that we wanted a picture of Chip and Dale together.. and being the special person she is she made that happen for us even though Dale was on his way out for a break. Tigger, Chip, Dale and Minnie gave Alex special attention. Alex tried giving them his pressed pennies. It was adorable and these characters were obviously having fun with Alex.
Now that the Princesses are no longer at the Plaza Inn I can highly recommend this character meal. It was very enjoyable with great character interaction and great food. It is a convenient character meal since you do not need to leave the park to attend it.
The Plaza Inn does take the AAA discount, which will save 10% off your bill. The cost to get in is $21.99 per adults, $11.99 for children. (2006 prices)
