Dining on the Disney Crulse

Dining on a Disney cruise is a unique experience that is included in the price of your cruise fare.

Rotational dining

Disney uses a rotational dining system, which means that you will rotate between three different restaurants throughout your cruise. Your dining room servers will move with you to each restaurant, so you'll have the same servers each night. You can see your restaurant schedule and table number after arrival by checking your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App.  Your rotational schedule is also on your "Key to the World" card although I've heard rumors it is being removed. (2023)

Main Dining Room

Each night, you'll dine in one of the main dining rooms. There are typically two seatings for dinner, an early seating and a late seating. You'll be assigned to one of these seatings before you board the ship.  You do not have to worry about missing the shows because of your seating time.  There are also 2 shows every night.  If you have the early dining service you can attend the show after your dinner and if you have the late dining you will attend the show before dinner.  You can request your seating time preference by calling Disney after booking.  The 1st seating is the most popular option although we prefer the late dining.  The late dining allows us to relax after port excursions before eating and then after eating we head off to the adult entertainment.

Disney-Themed Restaurants

Each of the three restaurants has a different theme and menu. For example, Animator's Palate features a Disney animation theme, while Tiana's Place features a New Orleans-style menu and live music.

Casual Dining Options

In addition to the main dining rooms, there are also casual dining options on the ship.  This includes a buffet-style restaurant and many quick-service counters on deck.  The quick service restaurants will be open most of the day.  The buffet will will be closed between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner.  Check your Navigator App for the schedule.  The buffet will not be a buffet during the evening dining.  It will be more like a seat down restaurant with a limited menu.

Room Service

Room service is available 24/7 on a Disney cruise, and it's included in the price of your cruise fare. You can order everything from breakfast items to sandwiches and pizza to be delivered to your stateroom.  This is the one service where you can tip in cash.  We typically tip $1/$2 when ordering room service.

Specialty Dining

Disney also offers specialty dining options for an additional fee, such as Palo (Italian cuisine) and Remy (French cuisine). These restaurants require reservations, and they offer a more upscale dining experience.
