Taking A Year To Plan our 2005 Disney Vacation - June 2005 - 3

Leanne loves to plan Disneyland Vacations: almost as much as she enjoys visiting Disneyland itself. She is also very good at it. It helps that she spent 15 years as a Travel Agent. This article is an in-depth, personal look of how she planned our June 2005 Disneyland vacation… which started the day after returning from our July 2004 Disneyland vacation. This article is very long and will be updated continually until we take our trip. A more condensed version can be found at: Planning your Disney Vacation - Our 2005 Planning A general Disneyland Planning Guide can be found at: Planning your Disney Vacation

The Vacation is Over - Trip Report

Our 2005 Disney Vacation Itinerary

June 24, 2005

Well, I didn't expect to have another update, but I sure do. I have been keeping very busy with final vacation preparations, and thought, might as well put it in my journal. So, here goes. Lol

Today I got up at a decent time and immediately got to work. I decided that today would be a good day to get driving directions for everything. So we now have directions, courtesy of mapquest from Los Angeles International Airport to Howard Johnson Anaheim. Then I did directions from HoJo to the Disney Outlet Store, which is in Orangefair Mall. Finally, I did directions from HoJo to the Grand Californian Hotel. Yep, I know where it is, but not how to get there from another hotel.

With that completed, I picked up Alex's Lego's, then sat back down to make arrangements for my electronic scooter. John at Alans Wheelchair is a very nice man, and really did help me. He set me up with a scooter that will be delivered to the Grand Californian on Tuesday June 28th. They will pick it up after we leave.

When first talking to John about this, I was concerned about theft. He told me just never leave the key in the machine. I had to laugh, because I had not even thought about that. Today, I asked him how fast the scooter goes, and his first reply was 75 miles per hour. Wow, I just started cracking up. In reality it goes about 4 miles per hour. My fear is that it goes slower than I can walk even WITH my back injury. We will see.

I will also be doing plenty of walking before getting the scooter. Even if we drive to Goofy's Kitchen on Monday, I will still be walking in the Denver Airport, which is HUGE, and then at LAX which is also HUGE. Then there is Tuesday morning before we check in to the Grand. We will be at Disneyland that morning, and I will be walking.

I told a friend that if anyone makes a comment about me using the scooter for special attention since I can walk, I will immediately set them straight. Now, I fear that after all the walking, I won't be able to walk anyway. I also decided that frankly, what I do is none of their business anyway. I am not asking for special treatment. I just can't walk and stand without a great deal of pain.

Okay enough of that. Am I excited? You bet. I can't wait to see Alexander's face when he sees Mickey and Minnie this time. And he really seems to be in love with Pooh right now, which is almost to bad because they are harder to see. It will be fun, as always.

That's it. That is everything from my planning. I have nothing left to do but laundry and packing. The house is clean. The pet sitter is coming on Sunday for the key. My neighbor is coming for watering directions today, and everything is ready. In a few weeks, you can look for my most recent trip report.

Thanks so much for reading my blog. I have enjoyed writing it for you to see even if it does show my neurosis. Lol Have a wonderful day, and remember the magic!

Leanne
