Being the Disney fanatic I am, when I am planning a Disney Vacation, I spend a lot of time on the Disney message boards at laughingplace.com. It was here that I found out about 2 new features for 2005. Mickey's Morning Madness, and Early Entry. Knowing that my son, a total Mickey and Minnie addict (just like me) would love Mickey's Morning Madness, I immediately called WDTC (Walt Disney Travel Company) to see if I would have that component in my 50th Anniversary Package, and if not, could I add it. I was very disturbed when they once again reminded me that no additions or subtractions could be made to that reservation.
What do I do now?? Selfishly, I wanted to keep my clock. Did I tell you I collect Disney items, and one of the sub-collections is the Disney clocks? I had to have this. But oh, I wanted my son, the love of my life, to be able to enjoy Mickey's Morning Madness. Like a fool, I mentioned this to my husband. He, of course, reminds me that the trip is for Alex. What??? How can that be, when I have been planning this trip in my mind for years, and the day the Grand Californian was built, I knew that was where we would stay for this trip. After going back and forth for a few days, I did the right thing, with a condition of course! I got my husband to say yes, I can buy my clock on Ebay, and I could pay big bucks for it (no need to divulge that amount here, sorry.) So, I called WDTC again, and cancelled my reservation so that I could reschedule our trip to add the early entry and Mickey's Morning Madness. Heavy of heart, worried about my clock, until I realized that NOW I could add my extra day, have park hoppers for the whole time, and it was now all one package. Hey, what a deal!
It was at this time that I began obsessing about AAA, knowing that since we are driving, I must join AAA. Due to some health issues though, I didn't continue with this train of thought.
