Disney World is comprised of 4 different Parks, not including the Water Parks. In Orlando Florida, you will find The Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Each Park has its own personality, with different attractions and entertainment in each park. Each park also has its own Character Meals.
The Magic Kingdom is Walt Disney World's version of Disneyland Park in California. The Castle here is Cinderella Castle, and is larger than Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland.
Here you will seven lands, including find Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Mickey's Toontown Fair. Like Disneyland, at the Magic Kingdom you will find various attractions, many characters, and great beauty. Shopping is everywhere, music is everywhere, and the Magic of Disney is very present at the Magic Kingdom.
Because Disney World has more Parks, many attractions seen at Disneyland Park are actually at other Parks within Disney World.
The entrance to the Magic Kingdom puts you in Town Square, looking at Cinderella Castle. As you walk down Main Street, you near Central Plaza. At this point, you may choose different pathways, each taking you to a different land.
Epcot Center itself is twice the size of the Magic Kingdom. Here you will find Future World, and World Showcase.
Future World has the well-known Spaceship Earth geodesic dome. This is also a place to learn and enjoy. Innoventions, The Living Seas and The Land each have their own attractions to enjoy. The brand new attractions, Soarin' can be found in The Land.
World Showcase is where you can visit different countries, all within one park. At each Country there is a restaurant serving food from that Nation. Shops, and attractions are also similar to what you would find if you went to the Nation you are visiting in World Showcase.
There is an incredible about of entertainment at Epcot, and great food to enjoy!
Disney's MGM Studios is full of things for Hollywood. Movie sets, action sequences and more are at MGM Studios. It seems that each year, MGM gets a new show or attractions. Ever changing, this park is one not to miss.
MGM Studios is where you will see perennial fan favorites such as Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. One of the most well known shows ever done at Disneyland is shown here at MGM. Fantasmic! here is a different experience, for a very similar show. Fantasmic! no matter what the setting, is a definite must-see.
Also at MGM Studios is the brand new show, Lights, Motors, Action! Which is an Extreme Stunt Show. As for attractions, if it came from a movie or television show, you will probably find it at MGM Studios.
Disney's Animal Kingdom is the most different Park to join Walt Disney World. Here you will find beautiful, lush landscaping, wonderful, exciting attractions, and incredible encounters with animals you would not expect to see in your every day life.
Animal Kingdom is split into 6 'lands' once again attached with a central hub breaking off to the individual lands. Oasis, Discovery Island, Africa, Asia, Dinoland U.S.A. and Camp Minnie-Mickey are the lands you will see at Animal Kingdom.
Each person who enters this park will go through Oasis, which isn't really a land per se, but you will find many different animals hanging out here.
Discovery Island is home to the well-known Tree of Life. Standing 145 high with over 325 animal pictures draw on the trunk, this is a beautiful sight to see. And where else would you expect to see It's Tough To Be A Bug in Orlando? Of course it is at Animal Kingdom, in the Discovery Island land.
Africa is the land with the wonderful 20 minute long Kilamanjaro Safaris. As you travel along on your safari, you will see free roaming animals, such as zebras and elephants. This attraction isn't all beauty and light though, or it would not be Disney. Here you will run in a rickety bridge, deep potholes, scary creatures and worse. Fun stuff Disney style!
In Asia, you will find the Maharajah Jungle Trek, bringing you very close to the gorgeous Asian Tiger and other beautiful and majestic animals. You can also get plenty wet on a river raft ride, similar to Grizzly River Rapids at Disney's California Adventure.
Dinoland of course, has Dinosaurs. Thrilling rides, bones and the rocking show Tarzan Rocks! Each attraction here to amaze and entertain you!
Finally, Camp Minnie-Mickey is where you will see the familiar and much loved Characters as you enter their summer camp. In addition to meeting the characters, the Festival of the Lion King is shown here as a 30 minute show.
In addition to the four parks, there are many more features to Disney World.
Downtown Disney is an eating and shopping paradise. Pleasure Island is a hopping area for clubbing. This is a part of Disney that is strictly for adults, and usually opens around 8:00pm nightly.
Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are Disney World's two water parks. Both parks are very well themed, and in the hot summer months, you could easily spend a full day at one of these parks.
Unlike Disneyland, Disney World in Florida cannot be seen in a few days. Plan on spending time to enjoy each park individually. Each one has something for everyone, and is filled with characters and those wonderful Disney touches.
